PNC and IBM jointly performed a Proof-Of-Value (POV) exercise to design & develop IT solutions leveraging BIAN Service Landscape (SL) and IBM Banking Process & Service Models (IFW). The primary goal of this  exercise was to evaluate the feasibility and benefits of using IBM Banking Models & tools in developing IT solutions conforming to BIAN standards for both topdown & bottom-up approaches. We used business processes of interest to PNC Bank (Account Opening & Corporate Lending) to drive this exercise. This paper outlines the work performed as part of this POV and provides an analysis of the approach and the results achieved.

Target audience for this paper is primarily the enterprise architects, business architects, service architects and application engineers, in banking.
