Steve Hagerman

Chief Information Officer for Consumer Technology,
and a Technology Fellow, Wells Fargo

Steve Hagerman is Chief Information Officer for Consumer Technology, and a Technology Fellow, helping keep Wells Fargo at the forefront of America’s diversified financial services companies. He leads architecture and product/agile transformation for the company and sits on the board of the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN).

As CIO, Steve is modernizing the technology and reinventing the customer experience for the company’s Consumer, Auto, Credit Card, Personal Lending, Zelle/Payments, Home Lending, and Small Business units. With his team, Steve develops innovative solutions for customers to engage with Wells Fargo and defines the strategic roadmap for consumer-facing technology platforms like the Contact Center, ATMs, Mobile, and the Banking Center.

Steve joined Wells Fargo in August 2019, from JP Morgan Chase, where he was Chief Technology Officer, Managing Director, with Home Lending Technology. Over his more than 17-year career at JPMorgan, Steve held several senior leadership positions in Customer Service Operations, Consumer & Community Banking, and Consumer Branch and ATM Infrastructure. Steve was one of JPMorgan Chase’s Distinguished Engineers, recognized for technical excellence in support of Branch & ATM, transaction performance monitoring, and infrastructure development. His expertise encompasses microservice architecture and cloud development.

Prior to joining JPMorgan, Steve held positions at Bank One, Vobix Corp, and Lexis-Nexis. He also served in the United States Marine Corps for five years with specialization in military intelligence and distributed intelligence systems.

Steve is based in Charlotte, N.C, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
