Charaka Kithulegoda
Executive Chief Information Officer at PNC
Charaka Kithulegoda is executive vice president, business lines chief information officer for The PNC Financial Services Group.
In this role, he is responsible for leading technology strategy and operations for the Asset Management Group, Corporate & Institutional Banking and Retail Banking, including small business. Kithulegoda drives digital transformation, enhances operational efficiency and integrates innovative technology to deliver secure and simple customer experiences.
Previously, Kithulegoda was chief information officer for Retail Banking, responsible for all technology aspects including the transformation of PNC’s core banking platform and applications to deliver the Retail Bank strategy.
Before joining PNC in December 2017, he was senior vice president and chief digital officer at ATB Financial. Prior to that, he spent 17 years at Tangerine (formerly ING Direct Canada), where he served as chief information officer. In that role, Kithulegoda was a key leader for the launch of ING Direct operations in the United States, United Kingdom and multiple European countries. He also served as head of development and oversaw the Project Management Office.
Kithulegoda earned a master of business administration from the University of Western Ontario, Richard Ivey School of Business.
